Latest News: The village head in Sidoarjo was walking around before being found dead by suicide
The police revealed the results of examining CCTV footage regarding the suicide incident of the Head of Buncitan Village, Sedati District, Sidoarjo, with the initials MJ (56). From CCTV footage and witness statements, it is known that the victim wandered around until he was finally found dead.
Sidoarjo Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Siko Sesaria Putra Suma said the victim came to the village office in the morning and was seen moving several times.
“Based on the results of examining CCTV footage, the victim came to the village hall at around 10.05 WIB and entered the village office area,” said Siko, as reported by detikJatimMonday (4/5/2026).
Shortly after arriving, the victim was seen heading towards the bathroom area while still wearing a jacket and helmet.
Next, at around 11.06 WIB, the victim was recorded pacing around the location and taking a water hose.
“In the recording, it can be seen that the victim took a water hose and cut part of the hose,” he explained.
Then at around 12.00 WIB, the victim returned to the bathroom and was seen changing into a yellow t-shirt. Five minutes later, to be precise at around 12.05 WIB, the victim came out of the bathroom and entered his office.
“After that the victim was no longer seen leaving the room until the witness finally found him,” added Siko.
