Former Mawar Team Members Become Candidates for Director General of Customs and Excise, Dandhy Laksono said Langgar of the TNI Law: Not the task of the army

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Former member of Tin Mawar Kopasus, Lieutenant General TNI Djaka Budi Utama is reportedly a candidate for Director General of Customs and Excise. That reaped the spotlight.

One of them is from Dandhy Laksono’s investigation journalist. He considered BEQ Excise was not a state duty.

This, even violated the new TNI Law (Law). The law which was previously criticized because it was considered to return the TNI dual function.

“Violations of the TNI Law they made themselves. Customs are not the task of the army,” Dandhy was quoted as saying from his upload on X, Tuesday (5/20/2025).

In the law, said Dandhy, there is indeed the authority of the TNI to take care of drugs. But customs are considered not just a matter of drugs.

“There is a matter of drugs. But the task of Customs is not just drugs,” he said.

Moreover, said Dandhy, Djaka Budi has a track record as a kidnapper. The Mawar team is known to be a team assigned to kidnap activists in the reform era.

“Not to mention the track record as a kidnapper,” he added.
