Operation SAR was closed, six bodies of Trenggalek landslides were successfully evacuated

FAJAR.CO.ID, JATIM – Six landslides in Kebonagung Hamlet, Depok Village, Bendungan District, Trenggalek Regency, East Java were entirely found dead, so that the search operation was declared closed (completed).

“With the discovery of four bodies on the sixth day of the search, the SAR Operation was officially declared complete and then the focus was transferred to the process of cleaning the landslide material,” said Head of the Surabaya SAR Office, Nanang Sigit was confirmed after the evacuation of the last four bodies completed on Saturday afternoon, around 16.00 WIB.

Sigit said, the four bodies were found gradually on Saturday (5/24).

The first body was found at 13.10 WIB, followed by the next discovery at 14.12 WIB, 14.30 WIB, and finally 14.40 WIB.

All victims were found in the closest position, buried by landslides as high as about three meters.

“Alhamdulillah, all the bodies of landslide victims were found. With this, our search operations declare completed,” Nanang said.

The four victims found were Nitin (36), Torik (2), Tulus (65), and Yatini (50).

Previously, two other victims on behalf of Yatemi (65) and Misinem (82) were found on the fourth day of the search or Thursday (5/22) and were immediately buried in one hole at the local village TPU.

All bodies were evacuated and taken to Dr. Soedomo Trenggalek Regional Hospital for the process of further identification by the medical team.

Trenggalek Police Chief, AKBP Ridwan Maliki, said the identification process was carried out to ensure the suitability of victim data.
